mediated interaction plays a crucial role for our understanding of nature. they are central to landau’s widely used quasiparticle theory, and all interactions are mediated by gauge bosons at a fundamental level. in this talk, i will present our recent work on mediated interaction between impurities in bose-einstein condensates (becs). in the first part, i discuss the interaction between two trapped ions mediated by a surrounding quantum degenerate bose gas and show that the induced interaction leads to substantial and observable shifts in the ion phonon frequencies. in the second part, i discuss the interaction between mobile impurities immersed in a bec in a two-dimensional
square lattice and predict the formation of the bipolaron, which should be detectable using high resolution quantum gas microscopy in optical lattices.
主讲人基本情况:
丁姗姗,2017年毕业于香港大学并获博士学位,此后在香港大学和丹麦aarhus大学从事博士后研究工作。研究方向为量子气体的多体理论,研究成果发表在physical review letters等学术刊物上。
